Scam-Watch Bureau

"Watch Out - There's a Thief About"

Been here before? Jump to Scam-Watch Articles

Scamsters have been around since time immemorial. And unfortunately they always will be.

The Internet is a haven for these unscrupulous shysters, and their rich pickings are harvested from the inexperienced Newbies of the Internet. Not because Newbies are any less intelligent than anyone else, but simply because they haven't been around the 'Net long enough to spot the obvious cons. They're not yet 'street-wise'!

But it's not just the blatant thieves you should be aware of. There are many, many 'apparently' respectable and established Websites that will gladly take your money, and fail to respond when it comes to after-sales service and refund requests.

As in all walks of life, most people are genuine and honest, and fortunately that is the dominant human personality. But hopefully this section of The Oracle will help alert you to at least some of the common, and less obvious, tricks these dregs of humanity use to try and steal our hard earned cash.

In the top left hand navigation bar are links to some extremely informative sites, that are determined to make us aware of these scamsters. But please don't become paranoid about doing business on the Internet. It's the miracle of the modern age, and is destined to change all our lives. Just be cautious before you do business, and don't get carried away with the sometimes hysterical media hype, about the dangers of making credit card transactions on the Web.

They say that a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing. But forewarned is also forearmed. And if you wish to stay informed about dubious and blatantly obvious scamsters, we recommend you subscribe to The iCop Whistle Blower weekly ezine... WhistleBlower-on@mail-list.org

This informative ezine is published by the Director of The International Council Of Online Professionals at http://www.i-cop.org of which The Newbie Club™ Founders Joe Robson and Tom Glander are Founding Members. The site is well worth a visit.

Please revisit 'The Scam-Watch Bureau' on a regular basis to keep abreast of the regular updates. And please email us with your suggestions and opinions.
